We are pleased to introduce the coaching staff of the TCU Men’s Lacrosse team for the upcoming 2019 season.
Mark Purcell - Head Coach
Mark grew up in Farmington Hills, MI, graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and attended Washington University in St. Louis where he earned his MBA. While at Michigan State, Mark was a 4-year D1 letterman in Lacrosse and was also appointed as a Captain during his Junior and Senior years. While in Baltimore, Mark coached lacrosse for 4 years in the Severna Park youth association. Mark was also associated with the Plano West Senior High School lacrosse program for 3 years where he was the Head Coach of the Division I team. Mark was also the Head Coach of the University of Oklahoma’s Men’s lacrosse team for 3 years where he led the building of a competitive and playoff program. This is Mark's 4th season with TCU and his 9th year as a coach in the Lone Star Alliance conference of the MCLA.
Matt Patyk - Assistant Coach - Defense & Alumni Relations
Matt grew up in Houston, TX and has played lacrosse since he was 8 years old. Matt graduated from TCU in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. In 2004, Matt graduated from Kinkaid High School, where he played a mixture of midfield and goalie for the division I varsity lacrosse team. Matt was a member of the TCU Men’s lacrosse team from 2004 to 2008, was involved with various officer positions, and instrumental in helping rebuild the program. In 2008, Matt was elected captain by his teammates and has been involved with the program as a coach ever since graduating.
Jordan Jason - Assistant Coach – Defense
Jordan is originally from Buffalo, NY, attended high school in Avon, CT, and graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. While at JHU, Jordan was a 4-year Division 1 letterman in lacrosse. During his four years, the Blue Jays had two Final Four appearance and two quarter final showings. Jordan has continued playing club lacrosse and coached in NY, CT and England. He also organizes a Johns Hopkins Alumni team for the Lake Placid Shootout each year. Jordan is currently completing his MBA at TCU.
Brett Bauer - Assistant Coach - FOM
Brett grew up in Charlotte, NC, attended high school at Charlotte Catholic and was a 4-year Varsity athlete earning honors of All-state and All-American. Brett went on to play lacrosse for the D-1 University of Delaware for 2 seasons. At Delaware, he played midfield and specialized in facing off on a team that made a historic run to the Division 1 Final Four. Brett graduated from University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, and coached at Hoover HS.
